In the early morning of September 27, Azerbaijan launched a large-scale military offensive along the Artsakh-Azerbaijani contact line aiming at numerous civilian settlements and infrastructures including Stepanakert, the capital of the Republic of Artsakh.

On September 27 and 28, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces shelled the town of Martuni in the Republic of Artsakh using D-30 artillery shells, jet system of volley fire “Grad”, as well as other volley fire jet systems. 

In Martuni, a woman and a child were killed amid the ongoing Azerbaijani attacks, and five civilians have been injured.

Shahen Alaverdyan, a Martuni resident, lost his wife and his daughter-in-law as a result of Azerbaijani attacks. His daughter is injured and is in hospital, and his 1.7 years old grandchild is injured in the leg.
